The Oxford Lions Club held its annual White Cane fund-raiser last week and collected $4,211 in donations.
‘We’d like to thank the generous community of Oxford for their support,? said Club President Ron Wood. ‘The money that we raised will be used for many worthy causes.?
Proceeds will benefit the club’s two $500 scholarships for Oxford students graduating high school and provide assistance to low-income individuals who need eyeglasses and hearing aids.
The Oxford Lions Club also provides financial support for the Leader Dog for the Blind program, the Bear Lake Youth Camp for the visually-impaired, the Beaumont Silent Children Fund and many other programs that assist visually and hearing-impaired people. ? Editor C.J. Carnacchio
