Howard Daenzer, who lives on Park Island, wants to know who’s in charge of lowering the waters of Lake Orion.
‘We need a policy. Someone needs to be responsible, someone that understands the situation,? he told village council members on May 10.
‘Where I’m at, it’s quite difficult to get my boat on the hoist because of the depth of the water. If the water is lowered by two inches I’m out of commission.?
Blocks at the dam, that can be removed, are used to somewhat control the level of the lake.
According to DPW director John Ranville, who takes care of the blocks, he has to keep a fine balance between the lake level and the amount of water flowing into Paint Creek.
The water level of Lake Orion can also fluctuate, depending on the amount of rainfall.
