Wildcat cagers have a winning week

The Oxford cagers had a great week with winning games against both Goodrich and Andover that brought the team record to 2-1 overall.
On Dec. 12, Oxford dominated the Goodrich Blackhawks 77-62. Once again the Wildcats jumped ahead right in the first quarter for a commanding 22-9 lead.
Scoring for the Cats were Ryan Stull with 17, Dave Wendt with 14, Joe Fedorinchik with 13, and Bryan Mattack and Brad Dugan each with eight. The team was truly led that night by Dugan, who shot 80 percent from the floor, and Steve Flores, who had four steals, two assists and took a large offensive charge in the fourth quarter.
On Dec. 19, the Wildcats walked all over Andover with a 73-38 win.
“Oxford jumped out to a 17-4 lead after the fist period and a 32-11 lead at the half and never looked back,” said Coach Steve Laidlaw.
High scorers for the night were Fedorinchik with 15 and Wendt with 14. Wendt also had three rebounds and five blocks. Stull had an all-around good game with eight points, 10 rebounds and six assists; and Dugan once again led the way on the defensive end of the floor drawing five charges. Overall the team went 12-20 on the line.
The Wildcats faced off against Lapeer West on Dec. 19 in their first league match-up at home. Results for the contest were not available at publication time.
