Orion Township will dedicate its new amphitheater, ‘Wildwood? on Tuesday, June 14. The program will start at 6 p.m. with the North Oakland Dixieland Band playing favorites from the 1920’s and 30’s followed by a short dedication ceremony. The North Oakland Concert Band, conducted by Annette Kline will perform a patriotic program starting at 7 p.m.
The NOCB program will include American Civil War Fantasy, Victory at Sea, George Cohan’s Star Spangled Salute and Battle Hymn of the Republic as well as other patriotic favorites. The band will also feature two vocal arrangements, Sara Adams will sing ‘All That Jazz? from the musical Chicago and Martin Crothers will sing the Carmen Dragon arrangement of ‘America the Beautiful.?
The new amphitheater is located in the area of the old sledding hill near the corner of Joslyn Road and Waldon Road. Parking is located near the soccer fields with an entrance on Waldon Road just east of Joslyn Road or on Joslyn Court across from St.Mary’s Church.
