An afternoon of good wine, good food and good friends awaits at the Oxford Women’s Club 2nd Annual Wine & Beer Tasting Sunday, January 29.
The Addison Oaks Conference Center will once again play host to the event from 1 to 4 p.m.
Premium and exotic libations from around the globe will take center stage, courtesy of the Oxford Wine & Beverage Company and owner Dean Rondy.
At least 21 wines from Germany, Canada, Spain, Portugal, California, Italy, South Africa, Argentina and France are prepared to dazzle the senses and delight the palate.
From red and dry to white and sweet, a little something to suit every taste will be spread across three tables.
For those who prefer the magical mixture of malted barley, hops and yeast, there will be an entire table dedicated to beer ? real beer, not those watered-down ‘light? versions.
At least 10 beers from Belgium, Sri Lanka, England, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Maine promise to add a crisp taste and sparkle to the event.
With exotic flavors like blueberry ale and double chocolate stout and quirky names such as ‘Victory Golden Monkey? and ‘Rogue Dead Guy Ale,? these definitely are not your father’s beers.
Wine and beer experts from various distributing companies will be on hand to answer questions and guide tasters.
Because man cannot live by alcohol alone ? though many have tried ? there will be a selection of delectable hot and cold appetizers prepared by Addison Oaks? renowned kitchen staff.
From smoked salmon and stuffed mushrooms to cheese and crackers, cleanse your palate between sips and enhance your overall tasting experience.
Tickets for the event are $25 per person and available at the Oxford Wine & Beverage store in downtown Oxford (24 S. Washington St.). Tickets can also be obtained from Women’s Club members Karen Dopirak (248-371-5035) or Sharon Czarnowski (248-371-6944).
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Women’s Club Scholarship Fund for Oxford area high school students.
Anyone interested in joining Women’s Club is invited to call Vice President Darlene Toliver at (248) 628-1796.
