Wireless Zone holiday toy drive

Groveland Twp. -Joe Bommarito and his wife Laura are celebrating the holiday season by hosting their fourth annual toy drive, at all three of their Wireless Zone stores in Frankenmuth, Fenton and Ortonville.
Wireless Zone is the nation’s largest premium wireless retail franchiser, with more than 400 independently owned and operated stores across the country.
‘Our corporate office is really big on giving back to the community, and their philosophy is that a owner has to be the ‘mayor of the town? and really get involved in the community,? said Bommarito. The toy drive has been so successful that a lot of other locations have picked up on the idea, and are looking to implement it in their own stores.?
Every family that donates an unwrapped toy in its original packaging, worth $10 or more, gets one free Bluetooth headset. The toy drive will continue until Dec. 20.
‘We’re excited about the fact that with each new store, we’ve been able to exponentially increase our ability to give back,? he said. ‘The past three years have been hugely successful, we now have three stores to collect toys for three different local charities.?
The Bommaritos have partnered with local business affiliates in each of the three towns and will collect toys for the Ortonville Community Emergency Fund (O.C.E.F), Toys For Tots through a partnership with McDonalds in Frankenmuth, and Old Newsboys in Fenton.
Bommarito said the charity doesn’t stop at the toy drive for his Wireless Zones. A portion of the stores? commission funds the ‘Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving.?
In addition to the foundation, the stores also support organizations such as the Brandon High School Blackhawks Marching Band and the Stepping Stones Therapeutic Riding clinic in Monroe.
Joe and Laura Bommarito’s Wireless Zones are at 250 N. Ortonville Road, Ortonville; 223 N. Main St., Frankenmuth; and 1288 North Leroy Street, Fenton. Details: Wireless Zone, visit their website at
