Players from the Clarkston High School Football program are collecting food this Friday for their 13th Annual Rush for Food.
Players from the Freshman, JV and Varsity teams go to local neighborhoods and collect non-perishable food for Lighthouse Emergency Services, Clarkston.
The gridiron heroes are collecting food from neighborhoods from 6-7 p.m. and at Lighthouse, 6-7:30 p.m.
Neighborhoods football players are driving through for donations are:
Almond Lane/Pinevalley, Autumn Shores, Birdland, Boyne Highlands, Bridge Lake Bluffs, BridgeValley, Chestnut Hills,
Deerwood, Glenwoods, HarborTowne, Hills of Kingston, Lake Waldon Village, Manors, Middlelake, Oakhurst, Old Pond, Peacefulvalley, Pebblecreek/King,
Sashabaw Creek Meadows, Sashabaw Ridge, Sheringham, Softwater Woods/Ingomar farms, Spring Lake and Wyngate.
If they miss you, please leave your donation in a labeled bag on the front porch.
Donations can be dropped off to Lighthouse, 6330 Sashabaw Road, south of I-75, during business hours, or 6:30-7:30 p.m. on August 20. Please mark bags Rush for Food/Clarkston Football.
The event is organized by a parent volunteer committee, with support from CHS football staff. WrightActionPix and Sports Creations are funding the pre-event dinner for the players.
Other support includes Clarkston Athletic Boosters, Clarkston Chiefs and Springfield Township Kroger for donating supplies.
