Women leave accident scene

On Nov. 29, a 21-year-old Lake Orion woman was arrested for operating her vehicle while intoxicated after being involved in an accident with a pedestrian.
Police were dispatched to Bridgewater Drive around 10:50 a.m. after a witness reported seeing both the driver and pedestrian leave after the accident.
According to the witness, the women, who both appeared intoxicated, argued in the vehicle until the passenger stepped from the car and began to kick it. The driver then stepped from the vehicle to confront the passenger, apparently leaving the car running and in gear.
The passenger then walked away, tripping on a speed bump and falling in front of the car, which rolled forward on to her. The witness said two men pulled the car off the woman who fled while the driver left the scene.
Shortly afterwards, police located the victim near a store on Sashabaw Road. The Independence Township Fire Department transported her to Genesys Hospital for injuries including a broken hip. The driver was stopped in the driveway of a different store on Sashabaw and arrested.
