13U Chargers hand out hardware after successful summer campaign

The 13U Chargers had a very successful inaugural season finishing nine games over the beak even, with a record of 24-15. The team steadily improved all season, had a chance at the NOBF crown and went a tournament championship game in the last week of the season.
On the way, the players enjoyed a lot of individual improvement. Team awards included Dan Pillivant who won ‘Best Plate Discipline? by leading the team in walk to strikeout ratio, Roman Kuster received the ‘Play Dirty? moniker for raw determination and most improved attitude and ‘Rookie of the Year? went to Jonathon Rupe, playing in his first year of competitive baseball.
Kevin Imber earned the title of ‘Most Improved Player,? while Thomas Miracle won ‘Heavy Hitter? for leading the team in extra-base hits. Shane Stockwell, with the lowest ERA and most wins, deservedly took home the ‘Best Pitcher Award? and Connor Hopkins won the ‘Charger Award? for his leadership and strong play.
Taking home the ‘Base Stealing? crown was Justin Stross, while Victor Arribas received ‘Best Defensive? honors for his fine play in the field.
The ‘Best Clutch Performer? was Adam Harvey, who lead the team in game winning RBIs. Nicholas Deeg was the 13U Chargers ‘Best Offensive? player, leading the team in total hits and batting .477 for the season.
Mike Sewell ended up as the team’s MVP. He was a strong hitter and run producer, a fine catcher, closed several games pitching and was the team’s leader on the field.
Special thanks to Dan Stross and Craig Stockwell for their time and effort coaching and mentoring this group of young athletes.
