On Sept. 11, 2004, Rachel Jarosz, of Lake Orion, received her first degree Black Belt at a graduation ceremony held at the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Institute in Washington, MI.
Jarosz, 9, has been training for three years at the institute.
With the support of her family, Jarosz has worked diligently towards achieving her goals.
She has been a model student and has developed into an outstanding role model for other students, said Fernando Valdez, Jr., of the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Institute.
‘Her determination and perseverance in the pursuit of her goals is a testament to her abilities in the martial art of Tae Kwon Do,? he said.
Recently Jarosz competed in the 2004 Olympian Chung Do Kwan Championships in Garden City.
She competed in Forms and Fighting, where she took first place in both events.
