90 N. Main lake access approved

When Clarkston City Council approval lake access for 90 N. Main, Mayor Joe Luginski was relieved.
‘At the end of the day I think we got a good resolution and everybody seems to be in good unison about it,? Luginski said. ‘I just wish it would have been a quicker process than what it ended up taking us.?
City Councilman Steve Hargis called it a ‘good example of how government works.?
Local business owner Curt Catallo was a potential purchaser for 90 N. Main but lost interest.
‘I couldn’t risk negative publicity in the press and I didn’t want to further offend the residents of Parke Lake,? he said. ‘I was just in no mood for controversy.?
Building owner Bob Roth was disappointed the council lost sight of what was important.
‘It’s about jobs, businesses and supporting businesses,? Roth said. ‘Last I talked to Curt, cities want him to come and bring his business. I still think it’s a great spot for his business the building is perfect for his use and it’s close to his home.?
Overall Roth is happy.
“We have an approved site plan and approved uses,” he said. “It’s progress.”
Luginski added it was too bad Curt couldn’t act on purchasing 90 N. Main.
‘It would have been a great addition to the city, use for that building and I think Curt would have been a great owner,? he said. ‘Maybe there is still enough of a chance, I don’t know.?
Catallo said he hasn’t ruled out the property entirely.
“I’m still committed to finding a good tenant for Mr. Adler and Mr. Roth for that building ? Clarkston needs a good tenant in there,? he said. ‘If it could still be us that would be great.?
