Oakland County— From 8 a.m.-1 p.m., on April 12, Oakland County will host their first NoHaz collection event of the year.
NoHaz is a county-wide program that provides residents with a way to dispose of hazardous waste through several collection events throughout the year. Any Oakland County resident can participate, even if their township is not participating this year.
Groveland Township residents can participate for $15 per car, and Brandon Township residents can participate this year for $20 per car this year.
“Currently the board has agreed to participate every three years,” said Brandon Township supervisor Jayson Rumball.
The first event on April 12 will be at Pine Knob Music Theatre, 33 Bob Seger Drive, Clarkston.
“Residents can participate at any of the four locations/dates,” said Rumball.
The following three collection events will be on June 7 at Oxford Middle School, July 19 at Kensington Church in Orion Township, and September 13 at Oakland County Service Center Campus. Register for any of the events at oakgov.com. A list of acceptable materials is also available online.
Brandon Township also hosts two clean-up days for Brandon residents for non-hazardous materials on June 7 and September 6. Call 248-627-4918 for the supervisor’s office to make an appointment for the clean-up days, which are free. A full list of acceptable materials is available at brandontownship.us.
