Just a taste

The Boys/Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan — Orion/Oxford hosted its sixth annual Taste of the Town in February. It took place at the Castello Di Bologna Restaurant at Canterbury Village.
Over $11,000 was garnered by a silent and live auction. Joe Fowllkes was the auctioneer for the live auction.
As in other auctions this winter, a Steve Yzerman jersey attracted quite a bit of bidding action. The signed and framed jersery went to the highest bidder for $800.

Representatives from area restaurants, bakeries and other establishments showed off some of their finest food at the seventh Taste of the Town on Feb. 26. The annual event was hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan — Orion/Oxford Club at Canterbury Castle in Lake Orion.
Guests tried samples from Kalloway’s Restaurant, Poppyseed Deli, Max & Ermas, Costco, Canterbury Castle, Boulder Pointe Golf Club & Banquet Center, Great Lake Bread Bakery & Deli, Little Caesar’s, Hamlin Pub, Starbucks Coffee, Olive Garden, Buffalo Wild Wings, Metamora Golf & County Club and Joe Bologna’s Trattoria in Canterbury Village.
The evening included silent and live auctions of items donated by businesses and local residents. B-Side Band provided the entertainment.
Proceeds from Taste of the Town help fund the club, located at the Ehman Center in the Village of Lake Orion
