12U Dragons go undefeated in Charlotte Tournament

The 12U Lake Orion Dragons went 3-0 in the CJO Fourth of July baseball tournament in Charlotte, Michigan.
The Dragons won their first game, 10-9, over the Capitol City Marlins.
In their second game, the team was tied, 3-3, after three innings with the Kalamazoo A’s. The Dragons scored 15 runs in the top of the fourth inning, and won 18-3.
The Dragons earned their number one seed by pounding the Charlotte Orioles, 19-0.
Aidan Murdock, Josh Stocchi and Casey Burke pitched well in the opener against the Marlins, with Stocchi getting the win and Burke earning a save.
Shawn Ramaekers pitched a four-hit, four-inning complete game, striking out five batters against the A’s. Pitcher Burke teamed up with catcher Matt Musary for their second four-inning, no-hitter in two weeks, when Burke struck out five batters and shut down the Orioles.
The Dragons had plenty of offense during the tournament. Leadoff hitter Musary led the team with eight hits, seven RBIs and seven runs scored, including seven straight hits in his last seven at-bats of the tournament.
Murdock had seven hits and seven RBIs, including a two-run homerun over the 220-foot fence against the A’s.
Andy Mosier had four hits and seven RBIs, including a solo homerun over the left field fence against the Marlins. He provided the fireworks for the Fourth of July tournament when he hit a grand slam homerun over the centerfield fence against the Orioles.
Burke had six hits, six RBIs and seven runs scored. Mike Nelson had six hits, five RBIs and six runs scored.
Stocchi had four hits and six RBIs with five runs scored.
Josh Ruggeri reached base six out of seven times, with three hits and three walks.
Stephen Nowicki, Collin McGran and Ramaekers each had three hits and three runs scored.
Jake Pratt had two hits and three walks, including an inside-the-park homerun against the A’s.
The Dragons were looking forward to their next tournament in Millington, Michigan.
