Morning rush hour traffic was snarled at Sashabaw and Clarkston roads on Oct. 15 after a personal injury crash blocked the intersection.
The crash, caused by a driver who ran a red light, occurred about 8:30 a.m., according to Oakland County Sheriff reports. Both drivers were listed with ‘C? injuries, indicating no visible injury but complaint of some pain. Neither sought medical treatment at the scene.
A 29-year-old Ortonville woman was at the wheel of a southbound 2004 Jeep Liberty, reports said. A northbound 2005 Chevy Equinox, driven by a 37-year-old Lake Orion woman, was in the process of making a left turn onto Clarkston when the Jeep broadsided the Equinox on the passenger side.
A witness told deputies the northbound vehicle had the green left-turn arrow.
Both drivers were wearing shoulder and lap belts, and both vehicles deployed air bags upon impact.
The offending driver was issued a ‘hazardous action? citation for disregarding a traffic control device.
