Bah humbug to getting a Christmas parking ticket

Does the Grinch live in Lake Orion? Or is this quaint little town hard up for money?
On Christmas Day, my family drove to Lake Orion to visit my in-laws. As we have done for four years now, and we do on many other special holidays.
As we were preparing to leave, I found a wet piece of paper on our front windshield. It was a parking ticket!!! Why now?
Written in the VIOLATION space is ‘BLOCKING DRIVEWAY.? MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The fine for this offense is $20. If I had missed the ticket under the snow on our windshield, I’ll bet Lake Orion would not have hesitated to charge us extra, ‘After 14 days.?
I suppose a warrant would have been issued, and if pulled over for anything in our vehicle, our vehicle would have been confiscated.
Maybe the driver would have been arrested. I shudder to think what results of such negligence would have occurred. Why now?
We were parked in the driveway. Is my in-laws? home being watched? Does Officer Barker ticket other residents of Lake Orion in their own driveway on Christmas Day?
I can’t help but wonder. Has this parking practice always been in violation? Could be one of those laws that are only enforced when the officer wants to make a statement.
My in-laws are Hispanic. Of course that wouldn’t have anything to do with it. I suppose a neighbor could have been inconvenienced by the sidewalk being blocked.
I didn’t see any people out walking around in the snow and rain.
The Village of Lake Orion gets my vote for ‘Most Inhospitable Town in Michigan.?
Maybe ‘Most Inhospitable Town in America.?
MERRY CHRISTMAS LAKE ORION!
