Alpha Lambda, Orion/Oxford chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) honorary teachers? sorority, hosted a Mexican-style fiesta for some of the residents at the Heritage Place Senior Apartments in May. Throughout the school year, the 50-member chapter hosts weekly bingo nights at Heritage Place, and the fiesta was their year-end celebration. ‘Our main goal is to raise money for scholarships,? said chapter member Diane Farstvedt, who said the sorority recently gave out two $1,000 scholarships to area students going into a child-development field.
