Board to meet privately on wetlands issue around Elkhorn Lake

The township board will discuss their options with regards to the wetlands around Elkhorn Lake during an executive session at their Nov. 19 meeting.
The board opted to ‘receive and file? an opinion letter from their attorney, but will continue to weigh their options for action.
‘I have a lot more questions,? said Trustee John Steimel said of the attorney’s letter. ‘There are questions raised within this report. If we have to do that in executive session at the next meeting, then I am fine with that.?
‘I can give you further recommendations, based on the law, if you like,? Attorney Shannon Ozga said. ‘Part of our job is to give you the facts as we know them and give you options.?
‘If you want to go out to all of these properties and order restorations, then you need to hire an environmental consultant,? she added.
‘It’s up to this board to decide,? Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk said. ‘How much money do we want to spend? How much do we want to do??
