Lake Orion Baptist earns league split

The Lions traveled to Bethany Christian in Troy last Tuesday for their first Fundamental Baptist Athletic Conference (FBAC) game of the season with the Bruins, falling 64-52 in overtime in a hard-fought battle.
The Lions trailed after one quarter, but roared back in the second quarter to grab a 25-18 halftime lead.’At the end of three quarters the score was tied at 34.?
The Bruins scored as time expired to tie the game at 50, and then went on for the victory.
James Moreno was the leading scorer for the Lions with 13 points and five assists. Eric Dewar followed with 12 points, and Matt Dobis had a double-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks.?
The Bruins were led by Jacob Padington with 29 points and Chris Steers with 24 points, combining for 53 of the team’s 64 points.’They remained undefeated on the season (3-0).
The Lions hosted Rochester Hills Christian on Friday and clipped the Eagles? wings 59-51.’It was the first win over the Eagles in’the six-year history of the series.
Dobis led the Lions with 16 points and 17 rebounds and Ben Cuyler added 15 points and nine boards. Meanwhile, Dewar came away with his first double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds and Matt Cameron had eight points and nine rebounds.
The Eagles? leading scorer was John West with 17 points, followed by Evan Milsk with 16 points. The Eagles are 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the FBAC.
The Lions are now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the FBAC. The team will be hosting Lake Orion Baptist School Alumni on Dec. 28 for their annual alumni night at 7:00 p.m.
