Four outstanding photographs snapped by Oxford Leader staff members received ‘Excellence in Media Awards? from the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
Editor C.J. Carnacchio and Staff Writer Casey Curtis were honored Tuesday night at the group’s annual awards banquet at the San Marino Club in Troy.
Carnacchio received both first and second place honors in the news photo category, while Curtis placed first and second for her action-packed sports photos.

The Leader competed in the Class C Print Media classification, which includes non-daily newspapers, magazines and trade publications with a circulation of less than 50,000.
Competition in this class included Hour Detroit, Crain’s Detroit Business, the Detroit Jewish News, the Ann Arbor Business Review and newspapers from the C&G and Heritage chains.
