Local cop bags trophy buck

An Oxford Village Police officer was compelled to use deadly force when it appeared a highly sought-after subject was preparing to flee the scene.
Officer Mark Lampkowski bagged himself a nine-point buck Nov. 20 right here in Oxford Township.
Using a 12-gauge side-by-side shotgun loaded with buckshot, Lampkowski shot the trophy buck at 5:05 p.m.
‘He came tromping right at me,? he said. ‘He was ready to turn and run, so I let loose with both barrels.?
Using the Pope & Young Club’s scoring system to measure and rate his buck’s antlers, Lampkowski determined it had a rough score of 120.
‘He scored mostly in the mass because he’s so thick,? he noted.
It was later determined the subject was unarmed, but still considered delicious.
