A vacant building is making at least one village resident upset.
Ted Hockenbrock asked Lake Orion Village Council members on Jan. 13 about the status of Art Ronzanski’s former service station at M-24/Flint Street.
“It looks like it belongs in Detroit,” he said.
No one has occupied the building since Ronzanski retired over two years ago.
According to LO Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel, the property was sold. “But there’s disputes over payment and that person has declared bankruptcy,” she added.
She said the new owner at one time had a site plan application, but didn’t pay any of the fees. “He did do some modification to the building, but the state issued a stop work order,” Van Tassel added. “The bankruptcy has to wrap up before any foreclosure can take place.”
