Church youth offer dinner, show with a message

Ever wonder if you’re spending your time here on Earth wisely?
The youth at Christ the King Church will use a mix of comedy and drama to examine that very question as they host their 2nd Annual Youth Theater & Spaghetti Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, April 24.
Directed by Adam Silorey, a junior at Oxford High School, the show is called ‘Time is Ticking Away? and it consists of 15 skits designed to make people laugh, but also think about where their seconds, minutes and hours are going and if they’re being put to the best possible use.
‘We’re all given the same amount of time in a day,? said Lori Shafer, who’s daughter, Carly, a sophomore at OHS, is performing in the skits. ‘Maybe we all need to think about how we’re spending our time. Is it the way God wants us to??
Shafer’s very impressed with this purely kid-driven production.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it in my life,? she said. ‘It’s really amazing to see these young people and the power that they’re holding for their generation.?
Tickets for the dinner theater are $10 each or $30 for families and on sale now or at the door. Proceeds will be used to send church youth to Camp Hiawatha, a Christian camp in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
