More than 100 residents lined downtown streets and filled Lakeview Cemetery, Monday, for Clarkston’s Memorial Day parade and ceremony.
The American Legion Honor Guard, Clarkston High School Marching Band, and military vehicles, some restored by residents, paraded down Main Street to the cemetery. The ceremony included patriotic songs, a reading of the Gettysburg Address as well as the names of more than 800 local veterans, some of whom fought in the Revolutionary War, and Civil War reenactors marking their graves with flowers.
