*Retail fraud reported at Meijer. Subject was observed scanning a UPC code for an item marked $12.99 instead of the correct one for the item he was purchasing, which was priced $89.99. He was given a citation for retail fraud in the 3rd degree.
Thursday, July 30 – Property damage reported at Oxford Hills Golf Course. No known suspects.
*Illegal use of credit card reported at Oxford Party Store. Victim reported only one card exists for the said account, and it is not missing.

Saturday, August 1 – Damage to personal property on Tanview. This is the third car in approximately one week that has been vandalized at this location. Victims believe the same subjects are responsible for all counts.

*Wild animal reported on Glaspie. An injured raccoon was found in the reporting person’s backyard. An officer shot the raccoon on site.

*Fire department investigated a chemical smell near Thomas St. Illegal burning was discovered, and the fire was extinguished.

Monday, August 3 – Subject arrested on Glaspie for driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Oakland County Jail.

*Nails in roadway on E. Burdick near post office.
*Subject believed he was wrongly accused by an Oxford deputy, so he called to request a deputy to come to the scene.

Tuesday, July 21 – Village police received phone calls concerning two open buildings on Washington Street. One of the buildings was resecured while the other, a vacant building without a lock, remained open.
* Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in a red Jeep Cherokee in the Subway parking lot.
*Police assisted a motorist whose car broke down on Burdick near Pontiac Street. Police pushed the car into the Bossardet Funeral Home parking lot while the motorist awaited enroute assistance.
*A resident on Park Street phoned the police due to an unwanted and unidentifiable guest at her door. The suspect said he wanted to write a formal apology, and the reporting officer advised him on how to do this in a proper way.
*A resident of Oxford Lakes called to report larceny after their bike was stolen from their property.
*Two juveniles, 14 and 15, entered the police station requesting a ride to their home on W. Drahner. They declined the offer to phone their parents, and an officer transported them home.
*A suspicious vehicle with Virginia a license plate was reported on Glaspie at Scripter Park. A citation was given.
*A possible fire hazard was reported on Trillum Trail after half a tank of gas was spilled in someone’s driveway. No hazard was noted.
*There was a medical emergency on Gill. Subject was taken to Crittenton Hospital.
*There was a medical emergency in Independence Village. Subject was taken to Crittenton Hospital.
*Oakland County Sheriff Deputies were notified of a shoplifter after Meijer’s loss prevention officer identified and handcuffed an 18-year-old white male. The officer observed him walk in, go to the liquor aisle and conceal a bottle of whiskey in the front of his pants and walk out.
He attempted to run when she identified herself, but was unable to escape. The suspect was given a citation for retail fraud in the 3rd degree.
*Police were notified of a reckless driver in the Lake Villa Mobile Home Park. Upon arrival to the suspect’s house, the officer found him hiding behind his couch.
After a thorough investigation, the officer found that the suspect had driven on the sidewalk, nearly hitting a woman and two children. Residents told him to slow down, which he ignored. Two residents then got in their car to follow him and get his license plate at which time they were hit by the reckless driver.
He later threatened to shoot them with a shotgun. After much denial, the suspect admitted to all charges and was cited on five misdemeanor accounts: reckless driving, no operator license, failure to register car, no insurance and improper plate.
Wednesday, July 22 – a resident on Stanton called to report a possible drunk driver after a female driver had hit and damaged the reporting person’s parked car. The suspect was arrested for drunk driving, and the case is under investigation.

*A resident on Burdick called to report a possible breaking and entering in progress.
*A resident on Dennison called to report an unknown white female who was lying in her yard.
*Police responded to a vehicle lockout on Hudson. Entry was regained.
*A resident on Nuttall Branch called to report an assault. No injuries were reported.
*A female Oxford resident called 9-1-1 because her mother was being beaten up in Mohave, Ariz. She was given the number for the co-sheriff in Mohave.
*Police responded to a phone call regarding a motor vehicle accident on Stanton. At least one person was injured.
*A medical emergency was reported on Drahner after a Pulsar alarm went off, however, no ambulatory transportation was needed.
*A medical emergency was reported on Baldwin, and the subject was taken to POH.
*Domestic disturbance was reported on Pembroke Lane. The couple is filing for divorce and were fighting over custody of their children. The reporting officer turned the couple in to Child Protective Services for their behavior in front of the children.
*Domestic disturbance reported on Nuttall Branch. No injuries reported.
Thursday, July 23 – a call from a local bank was turned over to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
*Police were notified of a suspect who was attempting to steal scrap metal from the dumpster behind Ad-Rite. He was given a citation for disorderly conduct.
*Police responded to a diabetic emergency on Crawford Street. Subject was taken to POH.
*A resident on Mechanic Street phoned to complain about a dog barking outside. Moments later, she called to inform officers to disregard the complaint because the owner took the dog inside.
*Police assisted a motorist on N. Washington Street after their car broke down.
*A resident on Crawford called in to report a noise complaint.
*A 9-1-1 call was made by a resident on Parker Lake due to an incident, which was disturbing the peace.

Friday, July 24 – personal property damage was reported on Tanview.
*Breaking and entering reported on Pontiac Street.
*Juvenile complaint on Thornehill Trail. Suspect threw feces on the victim’s car.
*Suspicious circumstance reported on Pontiac Street. Reporting person said there was an unidentified bike left in her driveway.

Saturday, July 25 – breaking and entering reported at Pathways Church on Drahner Road. Suspect stole the collections money for the World Hunger Relief Fund. The cash was estimated to total $150. Nothing else was taken.
* Accidental property damage reported at American Pride Tattoo. Victim believes his driver’s side window was broken by falling rocks due to the landscapers.
*A medical emergency was reported on Hunters Rill after a 72-year-old female passed out.
*An officer found an intoxicated man in a parking lot at Washington and Burdick. He was taken to the station to wait for a cab.
*A suspicious person was reported sitting in a running van behind he Ox Bar & Grill.
*Someone called to report that drugs were brought into their home on Indian Lake Rd.

*Possible federal warrant reported for an AWOL officer. No warrant was found, but suspect was told to report to his unit.

Sunday, July 26 – a reckless driving reported in the Lake Villa Mobile Home Park after a family disturbance.
*An attempted breaking and entering on Thornehill Trail. Nothing was missing, and there is a possible known suspect.
*A vehicle was keyed in a parking lot at Washington and Burdick.
*A juvenile complaint was made concerning a group of kids who were hanging around behind Oxford Elementary School and on the roof of the building.

Tuesday, July 7 – a driver called 9-1-1 as a tan BMW was tailgating her while she was traveling into the Village of Oxford. Oakland County Sheriff Deputies saw the BMW at Lakeville Rd. and Wildcat Drive, and pulled the car over. The driver was issued a ticket for reckless driving.
*A S. Washington resident reported a male threw her belongings out of the apartment window at 7:53 p.m.. She told Village Police officers he left and was intoxicated. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
*A caller on Manor reported a subject was outside her trailer and threatening her at 8:15 p.m.
Wednesday, July 8 – Police responded to a disturbing the peace call from S. Washington when the upstairs neighbor was stomping on the floor of his apartment. An officer spoke to both parties and the neighbor said he would keep it quiet.
*A driver reported a deer by the roadway by Pacific Pride on Lapeer Rd. The caller was afraid it would run into the roadway. Deputies responded to chase it away.
Thursday, July 9 – a caller reported a vehicle had been parked in the southeast lot for a few days. Officers put a 48-hour tag on the car.
*A dark truck ran a stop sign at Thornhill and Oxford Lakes Dr. and almost hit five cars at 3:40 p.m.. The caller caught the license plate number and the responsible driver came into the station to give his side of the story at 4:22 p.m.
Friday, July 10 – a Crestmoor Dr. resident found someone had entered her vehicle during the night. They had taken her Dell laptop and $300 worth of gift cards for Somerset Mall. On Glenmoor Dr., a resident reported his Sirius Sportster Satellite Radio System stolen
*A caller reported suspicious circumstances on Lakes Edge Dr. when he noticed what appeared to be a youth, 9 to 10-years-old, driving a silver van down the street and towards Lakeville Rd. at 9:15 a.m.
*Officers were called to a Glaspie St. home when the resident reported she was going through a divorce and her estranged husband came to the house and was damaging some of the property.
*A black Ford Explorer hit a mail box on the 500 block of Baypointe at 3:52 p.m. and fled the scene.
*A caller on E. Burdick reported her son was threatening her at 6:36 p.m.
Saturday, July 11 – Village officers made a warrant arrest on a subject while he was walking through Oxford Lakes with two friends at 12:29 a.m.
*A deputy was dispatched to Maloney St. on a call of a suspicious vehicle. They made contact with the driver and noticed his eyes were bloodshot, glassy and pupils were dilated. He admitted he smoked marijuana and gave the deputy his bag of marijuana. He allowed the deputy to search the car, and the deputy found eight more bags and an opened bottle of Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum.
*A resident on Pearl reported suspicious circumstances at 10:27 p.m. after she believed someone had gone through her house.
Sunday, July 12 – a caller reported she was driving and her heart was racing, at 12:38 a.m. She did not want to pull over while she was on route to POH – Oxford. Officers followed her until she made it safely there .
*A caller on Crestwood Dr. reported a disturbance nearby at 6:11 a.m.
*A resident on Doral noticed a small vehicle with one headlight driving through the neighborhood at 4 a.m. It stopped at her driveway and left when her friend went outside to check. When she went out to her Mazda a few hours later, her pink iPod Nano (with a black sticker on the back of the Twilight Crest) and radio transmitter for the iPod were missing.
*A father and son found both their passenger rear side windows broken in the morning, even though they live three miles apart, one on Chieftan Circle and the other on Watersmeet Dr.The father reported his laptop was not taken, but the son’s laptop and camera were stolen.
*Police were called on a parking complaint occurring at Scripter Park. Cars were parked on the grass at 10:32 p.m., after the park closed.
*Residents on Pontiac St. reported screaming and yelling coming from nearby, possibly intoxicated people, at 10:21 p.m.
Monday, July 13 – police were called to N. Washington and W. Burdick for property damage at 7:55 a.m. for a Ford Explorer versus a motorcycle.
*A resident on Eagle Trail reported someone had entered her 2008 Volvo during the night. They took her purse, containing her credit cards, check book and $100 in cash, her red briefcase and her Tom Tom GPS system. The car was left unlocked.
*Officers were called to Scripter Park on a juvenile complaint. Kids were swimming across the lake and jumping on a trampoline at an Oxford Lakes residence. An officer spoke to the lifeguard on duty and advised her to keep kids in the swim area.
*A Lake Shore Circle resident reported she had received many threatening and harrassing text messages and phone calls from various numbers. She explained it started when she texted the wrong number. She was advised to block the numbers or change her phone number.
*Oxford Fire assisted a citizen with Multiple Sclerosis on E. Manor.

Tuesday, June 30 – Oakland County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to Twin Lakes Blvd. During the night nine mailboxes were smashed and laying on the ground. Several homeowners were advised.
*Oxford Village officers assisted a citizen on Pontiac St. having trouble getting her car alarm to stop going off. They reset the alarm and showed her what to do if it happened again.
Wednesday, July 1 – a Chocolate laborador retreiver was found at Seymour Lake Park and brought into the police station at 5:39 p.m. Animal control was advised and picked up the dog.
*A motion alarm was set off in a basement of a downtown business at 11:08 p.m. An officer checked and the building was secure.
Thursday, July 2 – police were called for a civil matter on Pontiac St. The caller said there was a subject at her residence doing unauthorized landscape work. She stated the subject showed up at her home on Wednesday inquiring about doing such work and she did not say yes to him. When police arrived, the subject was gone. She received a disturbing call the next morning from the subject.
*Dispatch called back when someone called 9-1-1 and hung up. A female answered and yelled ‘What?? When advised she had called 9-1-1, she slammed the phone down.
*Police were called when a customer failed to pay at Oxford Shell, 8:30 p.m.
*A juvenile complaint was made in the 300 block of Oxford Lakes Dr. at 11:32 p.m. The caller said three males were running from her house and she noticed they dumped something appearing to be pickle juice on her daughter’s car. An officer inspected and found a pickle stuck on the antenna and pickle juices had ran down the car.
Friday, July 3 -a noise complaint was reported at Rob’s Place at 3:57 a.m. The caller reported construction noise from the location. An officer spoke to the owner and advised him they needed to stop because of the noise.
*Oxford Fire responded to calls at Cross Timbers that a utility pole had broken. Residents in the area lost power at 8:45 a.m. DTE was advised and worked on the pole while 1,600 customers were affected.
Saturday, July 4- Oxford Fire responded to a call about an accident at Seymour Lake Rd. and Ramsey around 12:37 a.m. They assisted a resident on Stanton having difficulty breathing at 2:32 a.m.
*A fight involving eight males was reported at Oxford Tap at 2:35 p.m. The officer arrived and all was clear.
*Oxford Fire were at Lapeer and Indianwood to be on standby during the fireworks to assist Lake Orion Fire Department.
*Police responded to a civil matter call in the 100 block of S Washington St. at 6:54 p.m. The resident living above the caller had been harrassing her and was jumping up and down on the floor, which is her ceiling. While he was jumping the light fixture came loose and fell to the caller’s floor.
Sunday, July 5- a citizen walked into the police station to report tools were taken from his pick-up truck while it was parked on East St.
*Officers responded to several alarms set off at businesses along S Washington St. at 9:36 a.m.
*An officer spoke to a family on Sunset about a possible missing person from the the location at 2:30 p.m. The person was located at M-24 and Oakwood Rd. half an hour later. She was fine and going home.
*Suspicious circumstances were reported at 98 Glaspie at 6:48 p.m. Wood chips from behind the skate park were being loaded into a vehicle.
Monday, July 6- officers responded to a larceny from a vehicle in the 400 block of Thornehill Trail at 10:17 a.m. A GPS unit and Oakley sunglasses were stolen.
*Another resident reported items missing from his car on 1000 block of Foreland Dr. He said he left his unlocked vehicle in the driveway the night before and noticed Monday afternoon an envelope containing his personal medical information, address, and social security number were missing. A deputy advised him to lock any unattended vehicle and to monitor his credit activity.

Tuesday, June 23 – a motorist detoured into a ditch at 4:08 p.m.. He was driving north of Oakwood on N. Lapeer when he had to avoid hitting a driver that pulled out in front of him. No damage was done to the vehicle and no injuries were caused.
*A resident on Dennison reported internet fraud.
*An Oxford police officer noticed a vehicle on Glaspie with its windows open and keys still inside. The officer secured the vehicle.
Wednesday, June 24 – vehicles were parked in the grass at Scripter Park at 2:55 p.m. An announcement was made over the PA to move the vehicles before police started issuing tickets. They were moved but police came back later and issued four citations where vehicles were back on the grass.
*Less than an hour later, officers arrived at Scripter Park again. A male wanted to use the bathroom while it was being cleaned and gave the attendant a hard time. He was told to leave but wouldn’t.
*A vehicle was damaged while it was parked in a lot on Crawford.
*Oxford Fire assisted Independence Township Fire with a chlorine leak in the Clarkston High School pool.
Thursday, June 25 – a drain plugged in front of a house on N. Glaspie after a storm. The plug caused water to flood in the front yard and water was running into the basement windows, causing the basement to flood. DPW was advised.
*Power went out in the Lakeville and Grampian area when a transformer blew at 11:22 p.m.
*A resident on Oakwood Dr. fell down the stairs and was taken to POH.
*Oxford Fire responded to calls of downed wires on Dewey and Oxford Rd. On Noble Rd., a large Oak tree had fallen on six primary wires. The wires were reported to be stressed but still intact. DTE was advised.
Friday, June 26 – a homeowner on Thornehill Trail called police when two subjects cut through their yard and disregarded the No Trespassing signs that were posted. The subjects were located, advised by an officer and they apologized to the resident.
*A beach patron discovered her purse stolen after her visit to Stoney Lake Beach. She said she used the key fob to lock her car and left the windows open about four inches because of the heat. Her purse contained several credit cards, driver’s license, vehicle registration, insurance cards for her car and medical, bank checks and $30 in cash. She immediately cancelled her credit cards and flagged bank account numbers.
*A caller reported a raccoon stuck in a dumpster behind S. Washington St. Caller said the animal was up to its neck in water and they could not get it out. Officers arrived and got the raccoon out.
*Officers spotted two female juveniles trespassing in Scripter Park at 10:01 p.m. Both had marijuana on them.
Saturday, June 27- a juvenile on Pontiac St. was out at 12:03 a.m., past curfew. An officer talked to his parents.
*Officers went to W Burdick St. and Pontiac St. for a noise complaint at 5:43 a.m. A resident in the apartment building on the corner were told to keep the noise level of their party down.
*Deputies were dispatched for a possible domestic assault on Basket at 3:30 a.m. A couple were arguing when the husband left and the wife punctured one of his tires.
*A resident on Brabb Rd. had her license plate stolen during the night. The plate was entered in to LEIN and she was advised to get a replacement.
Sunday, June 28- a group of juveniles were disturbing the peace. A homeowner on Dayton said screaming and yelling sounded like it was coming from the Polly Ann Trail, behind the house.
*A caller on Moyer reported her neighbor’s dog was on the roof of the house and her neighbors weren’t home. Officers placed the dog back into the house.
*Officers advised of a disorderly juvenile at Scripter Park at 3:47 p.m. Police were later called to E. Burdick for another juvenile complaint. They warned and advised 10 juveniles that were across from the ball fields and heading towards Scripter Park.
*A deputy was dispatched to an alarm in the 700 block on Seymour Lake Rd. The door leading into the house was closed but not locked. The deputy checked the house and nothing appeared disturbed. He secured the house and called the owner’s daughter.
*A caller reported a red Chevy tailgating as part of a possible road rage incident at Baldwin Rd. and Seymour Lake Rd. Oakland County Sheriff deputies were advised.
*Oxford Fire went to Meijer to check on a man who was struck in the head by a falling tree and had a possible wrist and head injury. He was taken to Crittenton Hospital.
Monday, June 29- an occupied four door black vehicle backed up to the doors of Oxford Elementary School at 2:33 a.m. Village Police officers arrived and picked up a female juvenile suspect for loitering and trespassing. Her mother was called to pick her up from the station.
*A resident on Glaspie St. and East called police at 3:37 a.m. when two males were being loud and kicked over a recycling can.
*A neighbor on Crawford heard noises that sounded like gunshots at 11:24 p.m. It may have been fireworks.

Tuesday, June 16 – a resident on Crawford St. thought her apartment was being broken into at 12:34 a.m. After investigation from the police officer it was just trouble with a former tenant.
*Residents on Oakwood Ct. and Lakes Edge Dr. had problems with destruction of property. On Oakwood, items on lawn were damaged and lights were broken on garages of two homes on Lakes Edge.
*Oxford Fire responded to a Starbucks Coffee customer having a stroke and took him to St. Joe’s hospital
*A juvenile stealing wheels off a bike in the south east lot downtown was detained and turned over to parents.
Wednesday, June 17- officers assisted a motorist on Washington after his battery died at 9:09 p.m.
*Deputies were dispatched to Woodbriar for a larceny from automobile that occurred in Meijer parking lot. A black brief case was taken from the front seat. It contained a laptop computer and paper work. No evidence was found at the scene and the vehicle had been left unlocked.
Thursday, June 18 – a nanny returned from basketball camp with the kids. When she opened the garage of the Brookside Ct. home, she saw the door in the garage was opened. Several items including a laptop computer, iPod, and a flat screen TV were taken from the house. Deputies are looking into a possible lead.
*Officers assisted an employer at Scripter Park with a problem they had with an employee.
Friday, June 19 – a McDonald’s employee was approached by suspect at the counter at 12:05 a.m.. The subject cursed and threatened the employee. Later he reapproached the counter and swung at the employee. Feeling frightened, the employee pulled out a box cutter from his belt, but dropped it before anything else happened. The suspect was escorted from the property by the manager.
*On the 400 block of Lakes Edge Dr. a resident reported an unknown person drove over their lawn and took out the neighbor’s mailbox.
*A intoxicated male by Overhead Door in downtown was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
Saturday, June 20 – a resident reported an unwanted person in their home on Somerville at 6:13 a.m.
*Police received several calls from motorists around 9 a.m., reporting the traffic light at Lapeer Rd. and Drahner Rd. was out.
*Officers assisted a motorist at N. Washington and E. Burdick when his truck broke down in the left turn lane heading north at 5:50 p.m.
Sunday, June 2 – a concerned citizen called at 9:43 a.m. to see if somebody had found a cat.
*A resident on Park St. reported an unknown animal in the bushes near her house at 4:35 p.m.
*An alarm company called reporting a possible cut phone line in the 100 block of Washington St. at 10:35 p.m.
*A caller reported three vehicles parked at the park off of Spring Lake Drive. It was after 11 p.m., the park should be closed.
*On Lakes Edge Drive, a caller reported suspicious circumstances when a loud explosive noise was heard coming from the area. He could not get a visual to see if the noise was fireworks.
*Oxford Fire took a female vomiting blood to the hospital. They responded to another call at 6 p.m. when a caller on Glaspie St said her mom was having trouble breathing.
Monday, June 22 – A reckless driver in a silver vehicle was reported speeding on S Lapeer Rd. at 7:46 p.m.
*Deputies were called to a fight happening in the roadway on E. Manor St.
*A caller reported kids swimming in the lake at Scripter Park at 9:55 p.m. The swimmers were gone by the time officers arrived.
*On the 400 block of Thornhill Trail, a homeowner found their door wall was damaged and felt someone had tried to break in. An officer went to the home and observed what looked like pry marks on the door wall. The homeowner didn’t want to pursue the matter beyond extra patrol.

Tuesday, June 9 – Oxford Village officers arrived at Frosty Boy at 3:45 p.m. to control traffic as a group of kids crossed the street.
*A resident in an apartment complex on Crawford St. reported his home broken into. Upon investigation, it was determined his former roommate picked up his remaining belongings.
Wednesday, June 10 – Officers were unable to locate a silver, convertible Sebring reported driving at a high speed and cutting off other vehicles at N. Lapeer and Davison Lake.
Thursday, June 11 – The Oxford Fire Department assisted Lake Orion after a car had gone into Buckhorn Lake around noon.
*A driver on S Washington called the department when a white Silverado was weaving in and out of traffic and cutting other drivers off.
*Officers responded to a complaint about loud obscene music coming from a red truck parked at Little Caesars at 8:56 p.m.They were gone by the time officers arrived.
Friday, June 12 – Two males were checking and pulling on doors of businesses in downtown at 1:09 a.m. Officers advised them to leave the area.
*The Tan Company called police when a customer failed to pay for their lotion. An officer advised and the customer paid.
*Traffic heading south on Lapeer Rd slowed down when four vehicles were involved in an accident at 4:41 p.m. A grey Cavalier had stopped to turn into the Shell Gas Station. Two cars stopped behind her, but a Ford Escape failed to stop, hit the car in front of her and pushed all cars forward.
One motorist was taken to POH when she reported neck pain.
*Motorists reported kids were throwing rocks at drivers on N Washington from the bridge. 5:53 p.m.
Saturday, June 13 – Patrons at Oxford 7 Theatre saw two shows around 8 p.m. when two groups got into a verbal altercation during a movie. One group threatened to do physical harm to a male in the second group.
Officers went to the theater for the initial call and half an hour later to stand by while movie was letting out.
*Officers had to remove people from Scripter Park at 9:04 p.m.
Sunday, June 14 – On the 500 block on Tanview, a caller stated she could see her grandfather through the window, but he appeared to be unresponsive.
Monday, June 15 – An unexpected knock on the door at 12:15 a.m. had a Sebek resident calling the police. She was home alone.
*A citizen called the Village at 11:25 a.m. to check on the welfare of a fawn in the cemetery, believed to be motherless. Officers report the fawn is fine.
*Officers asked a child to clean up the curb. While he was painting his bike on the curb the overspray was going onto the sidewalk on Mechanic St.
*A bike was stolen on Dennison at 3:49 p.m.
*A driver was spinning gravel in his truck and hitting people on Seymour Lake Rd.
*Officers were called to Lincoln at 8:16 p.m. for disturbing the peace and found underage drinking. A citation issued for minor consuming alcohol.

Oxford Village Police responded to 158 calls last week and Oxford Fire, 23.

Tuesday, June 2 – a resident on Pontiac St. called Oxford Village Police when a skunk sprayed her dog and went underneath her deck. The skunk had disappeared by the time officers arrived. Homeowner was advised to hire a private trapper to remove the animal if it returns.
*Employees from Art & Dick’s Party Store reported a man loitering in the parking lot at 6:11 p.m. The intoxicated subject had tried buying alcohol and they refused to sell it to him. He drove off before the police arrived.
Wednesday, June 3 – early in the morning a caller on Dennison St. reported a male climbing through a window of a house believed to be vacant. Officers checked, no suspect was found and the house was fine.
*At Seymour Lake Park, employees found an intoxocated male with an open container of alcohol at 7:45 p.m.. They asked him to dispose of his beverage. He refused and became aggressive. The park employees called Oakland County Sheriff Office. As the deputies pulled up to the man, he threw his beer can under the car. After questioning, the man received a ticket for open alcohol and disorderly conduct.
Thursday, June 4 – a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle at Thornhill Trail and Oxford Lakes at 12:39 a.m. Officers discovered a man looking for vacuums in the garbage.
*Four vehicle break-ins were reported during the day. On Rolfe St., a man discovered his iPod and paycheck stubs missing from his work truck; on Eiderway, someone took powertools and a briefcase containing paperwork; at Mallard Way, sunglasses, CDs and change were taken and on Augusta Blvd., a man noticed his passenger door open and GPS missing.
Friday, June 5 – another GPS was taken at Teelin Rd. at 1 a.m. The driver’s door window was broken and the GPS unit, a Garmen 755W was gone.
*Twice the charm – Police visited the same house on Pleasant St. The first time was to investigate an animal complaint at 3:18 a.m.. They found a dog in the yard of its home. Upon discovery of an unlocked door they put the dog inside. They made a second visit when a neighbor complained about loud music. The homeowner was issued a citation.
*Deputies were called when a resident on Manor St. was being harrassed continously by her son. She reported he had left her threatening messages on her answering machine and in text messages. He rode his bike past her home several times while yelling he would kill her and her daughter. She explained they had moved away from her son and husband because they were physically and mentally abusive. Both of the males had moved and she didn’t know where they moved to.
She was advised to get a PPO and to record the messages and get a copy of the text messages to attach to the PPO.
Saturday, June 6 – Oxford Lakes residents called police when they noticed a truck driving on the lawn of the subvision’s park at 9:46 a.m. Officers made contact with the driver and the truck and trailer were moved without incident or damage.
*Two juveniles were caught while breaking into a vehicle in the 600 block of Lakes Edge Dr. They reached into a vehicle through the open window and took two packs of cigarettes. A neighbor detained the juveniles until the police arrived. The caller stated she was with the two individuals and wanted to report the crime.
Sunday, June 7 – an employee at a business in West Burdick Plaza reported a female trying to pass two fake $20 bills. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Monday, June 8 – officers responded to alarms set off at businesses on N. Washington within a few hours. One was set off by the storm and the other by an employee that exited through the wrong door.

Oxford Village Police answered 144 calls between June 2 and June 8. Oxford Fire Department answered 22.

Tuesday, May 26 – noises from a vacant home on Slater at 8:21 p.m. had a neighbor calling the police station to report several people were having a party at the house. Officers arrived to find workers repairing the house.
*Time to slow down – Residents on Crawford called when motorists repeatedly sped through the apartment complex. Earlier in the day a man on Pontiac St. was almost hit as he while he was backing out of his driveway. He stated the driver was going at least 55 mph, well over the posted speed limit.
*A suspicious person on Burdick St. had his vehicle door open and was slumped over and was unresponsive. A concerned citizen called the police at 9:29 p.m. Officers made contact and the man said he was just sleeping from a hard day at work.
Wednesday, May 27 – Dog problems ensued around Oxford. Three dogs were disturbing residents on East St. at 9:04 a.m. Officers found the dogs in a small pen with no food and water and the largest was aggressive. Animal control was called.
Later in the day a resident on W. Manor found a pitbull on her porch at 5:38 p.m. A deputy arrived and took the dog to the house he belonged. The resident found the dog again at 6:34 p.m. when it got out and came back for another visit.
*A resident in the apartments off of Crawford St. called police and stated several people in another apartment were smoking marijuana. The subjects did not come to the door when officers arrived.
Thursday, May 28 – OnStar called police at 9:40 a.m. when a red pickup truck backed into a car at the intersection of Washington St. and Dennison St. and both vehicles went off the road.
*Motorists had more trouble throughout the day, a caller said a blue vehicle was stuck on a curb at N. Washington St. at 1:20 p.m. and a vehicle went off the road and hit a tree at the Seymour Lake Road and Coats Rd. intersection.
*Upon doing a building check at a business off of Washington St., officers found three juveniles and transported them to Thornhill Trail.
Friday, May 29 – OCSO deputies were dispatched to Beemer Ct. for a minor destruction of property when someone threw several eggs at a house between 1a.m.-2a.m. The eggs hit the front door and bedroom window on the second level of the house. The homeowner said he looked out the window and saw a late model dark-colored SUV leaving the front of his home and heading east. The deputies found no evidence at the scene.
*A citizen arrived at the Oxford Police Department to speak to an officer about something she noticed about her recent purchase of a pre-owned vehicle – the VIN plate was missing.
*A homeowner in the 3000 block of Lakeville Rd. called when she discovered two cows standing in her backyard.
Saturday, May 30 – gates were open at Scripter Park at 12:06 a.m., officers checked the park and secured the gates.
*A problem kept occurring for a Shummard Branch homeowner. A OCSO deputy arrived when the resident reported someone had thrown a rock at his vehicle. He said he has had problems with someone throwing rocks at his vehicle and house. The deputy checked the area and was unable to find where the subject was throwing rocks from.
Sunday, May 31 – A downtown bar reported a customer causing trouble and had been asked to leave several times before the police were called at 1:59 a.m. The subject was seen heading westbound through Centennial Park and was not found when officers initially searched the area. He was found half an hour later when someone reported seeing him at Starbucks. The subject said he had a ride and was advised not to return to the bar.
*A caller stated her son’s vehicle was struck while parked in front of the house. The responsible party remained at the scene.
*A resident on Washington and Burdick found his car keyed while it was parked in the lot over night.
Monday, June 1 – A caller reported a driver swerving on the road at 5:42 a.m.. The car stopped at the light at Washington and Burdick and did not move. Officers pulled the vehicle to the side of the road. The OUIL was negative and the driver stated the cause for swerving was from being tired.
*Officers assisted a motorist on Burdick and West for a possible disabled vehicle. The car had ran out of fuel and the owner returned with more.
*Lakesedge Drive residents were approached as they were walking through the neighborhood at 8:16 p.m. A male offered to sell them drugs and the residents called police. The man was taken into police custody.
*The Oxford Fire Department responded to a call that a commercial wood outdoor stove at a home on Clover Lake Ct. was stinking up the neighborhood. The duty officer said the stove wasn’t in violation and nothing could be done.
*A deputy smelled a strong odor of intoxicants while he was questioning a driver that was being carried into an ambulance after being in an accident at Drahner Rd. and Maloney at 9:15 p.m.
His vehicle stopped sideways against a tree and his front right wheel was laying sideways on the ground next to the vehicle.
The suspect cooperated with the deputy by taking a breathlyzer test and having his blood drawn. He was booked on a OWI and spent the night at the Oakland County Jail.

Tuesday, May 19 – Oxford Police pulled over a vehicle at 5:49 p.m. after the driver seemed to be tailgating and speeding. When they stopped the car at Oakwood and M-24, the driver stated the female driver in front of him kept hitting her brakes so he went around her.
* A complainant on Pontiac St. called officers when someone other than tenants was using their dumpsters to dump their trash and throw away large items. He requested officers to ask for ID if they saw anyone dumping while they are in the area.
* A resident in an apartment complex on Crawford St. called officers after she witnessed new tenants urinating from a balcony a floor above her and being too loud.
Police found evidence to support her story and tried to contact the individuals in the apartment, but no one answered the door.
Wednesday, May 20 – Addison Township Fire responded to a call on White Pine Drive to a house fire. When firefighters arrived 20 percent of the house was on fire.
Oxford Fire assisted on the call and the fire was under control in 13 minutes with 3,000 gallons of water.
One firefighter was injured when a piece of glass fell while he was underneath a window. He was taken to the hospital, received stitches, and is fine.
*Two individuals were fishing at Scripter Park at 10:02 p.m. Officers reminded them of the park hours.
* A caller on Glaspie St. said she believed a parent leaving the ballpark with a child had been drinking and gave officers a description of the vehicle. Oxford Police pulled over the car and brought one person into custody for drunken driving.
Thursday, May 21 – after eating lunch at Jimmy John’s, the owner of a lawn care company noticed the Redmax backpack leaf blower he had put in the bed of his truck was missing. He admitted he parked his truck in a spot where he could not see it from inside the sandwich shop.
* When a backpack got caught in a tire of a child’s bike while the rider was on Mechanic St., officers took the bike to the owner’s house while the mom walked the kids home.
* A gravel hauler was pulled over on Lakeville Rd. for going too fast while he was traveling into the village.
* A resident on East Burdick called the police when they couldn’t get to sleep because a lawn service company was mowing the neighbor’s lawn at 9:17 p.m.
The mower explained he would not make a habit out of it, he just wanted to get the lawn done for the holiday.
Friday, May 22 – deputies arrived at Brookhollow when the homeowner reported sometime during the night someone had removed the window screen from the front and bathroom windows of her manufactured home. No damage was done to the window or frames.
* Neighbors around Oxford Elementary School kept hearing the loudspeaker at the football field making a loud screeching noise. Officers checked at 10:39 p.m., everything was secure and the noise had stopped.
The noise started again around midnight and the athletic director came out and turned off the speakers.
Saturday, May 23 – officers arrived at Round Lake off of Glaspie St. when a caller was concerned juvenile swimmers were damaging the swim area markers at 4:02 p.m. The teenagers said they wouldn’t do it again and no damage was done.
* Barking dogs kept residents on Ensley awake after carrying on for two hours. A resident called police at 11:43 p.m. when they couldn’t take the noise anymore.
Sunday, May 24 – A road hazard was reported at Lincoln and Mechanic. A caller reported pavement appeared to be collapsing in the area of a new drain.
Monday, May 25 – a resident on Dayton called police at 5:09 p.m. when she received harrassing phone calls. She had been robbed two years ago and the suspect was out of jail and calling her.
* A man was running down Woodleigh Way yelling at a vehicle driving away. He stated he had trouble with school kids.

Tuesday, May 12 – a homeowner on Glaspie St. was advised to move his boat. It was blocking a driveway while parked and in ordinance violation.
Wednesday, May 13 – a driver noticed the front of his vehicle was glowing as he was heading south on Lapeer Rd.
He turned onto Oakwood Rd., stopped his jeep, and noticed the engine compartment was on fire. The driver attempted to open the hood to extinguish the fire but stopped when it was too hot.
The engine compartment and cab were fully engulfed as Oxford Fire put out the flames. The incident was ruled accidental.
* Officers were called to Crawford St. when a mother reported her 19-year-old son had drug paraphernalia and suspected him of taking her medications after telling him to move out.
Officers found no paraphilia and no proof the son was taking her medication. The son said he would return later for his belongings.
Thursday, May 14 – more family issues ensued for residents. On Stanton Rd., a 18-year-old had a verbal fight with his mom. Officers advised her to contact the police department for standby when she was returning home.
Another 18-year-old son was arguing with his intoxicated father on Washington St. at 6:50 p.m. They got into a fight when the son refused to give his dad the car keys.
* A resident on Manor St. filed a report after items from her car were discovered missing during the night. The thief had taken flyers, $10 worth of change, a bracelet, a pair of earrings and a Hawaiian flower bag from the unlocked vehicle.
Friday, May 15 – Oxford police responded to a call that a passenger in a red truck was shooting paint balls at the windows of Wireless Toys on Washington St.
No damage had been done to the windows and officers found nothing when they reviewed the video surveillance.
* Two female juveniles were taken to Village of Oxford police station when they were out past curfew.
They had been waiting for their parents that never showed to pick them up. A mom of one of the teenagers arrived at the station and was intoxicated. The teens were turned over to the parent and all three received a ride home from officers.
Saturday, May 16 – while leaving Seymour Lake Park in the afternoon, a driver lost traction in his tires causing the tires to spin and throw stones and gravel from the parking lot in different directions.
One rock struck a rear window of a parked vehicle and broke it. The driver waited in the parking lot for the owner to return so they could file a police report for the insurance company.
As a car owner was leaving at 6:26 a.m. from Cotts Way, he discovered items were missing from his vehicle.
The car had been left unlocked with his wallet in it. Sixty dollars in cash and a company credit card were missing. He called and cancelled the credit card.
Sunday, May 17 – Oakland County Sheriff Department deputies were dispatched to assist Oxford Fire for a medical alarm at Aquaview Dr.
No one answered when a deputy knocked on the door and all entrances were locked.
The fire department started to breach the north door but stopped when the dispatcher said a key may be hidden. They gained entrance after finding the key and found the patient laying on the floor near the kitchen.
She activated her medical alarm when she fell and she couldn’t get up. She said she wasn’t injured and refused further medical assistance.
Monday, May 18 -Addison Township deputies responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a animal hospital in the 100 block of Rochester Rd. A forced entry was made through the rear sliding glass door and took approximately $10,000-$15,000worth of horse/dog drug tranquilizers. The investigation is ongoing.
* A reckless driver though Whispering Winds was speeding down the road when a neighbor called the police at 4:17 p.m.
Officers used the information given by witnesses to track down the driver to Sunset Blvd., but found no one lived at the house.
* A loss prevention officer on duty at Meijer’s observed a white male select Rhoto V eye drops and pregnancy tests. The suspect concealed the items in his hooded sweatshirt.
The officer followed the suspect after he left the store without making an attempt to purchase the merchandise.
The officer stopped the suspect, identified himself and asked the suspect to go back into the store, which he did without any arguments.
He admitted he took the pregnancy tests for his girlfriend, who could be pregnant. The suspect was on probation for disorderly conduct and drug paraphernalia. He was cited for retail fraud in the third degree and released.
* A concerned citizen handed over a $2 bill to Village of Oxford officers. He believed the bill to be counterfeit after finding it in his planner.

Tuesday, May 5 – a resident on Oxford Lakes Dr. found an item had been shot through his vehicle window at 9:38 a.m. Upon closer examination it appeared to be a potato.
* At Broadway Plaza a concerned citizen called Oxford police after seeing someone either sleeping in their vehicle or something wrong with them. When officers arrived to check the area, the vehicle was gone.
* On Woodleigh Way a resident called with suspicions a house was abandoned and pets were still in the home.
Officers connected the owner and he said he did moved out on May 3 but was coming over daily to feed the two cats. He said he would take them to animal control if he could not find a home for them within a few days time.
Thursday, May 7 – Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Lakes Edge Drive at 10:39 p.m.
They remained in front of a house on the 500 block. When the driver was questioned, he said he was looking at houses to buy.
Friday, May 8 – A woman on Burdick St. requested to see an officer in regards to a possible phone scam. The officer believed it was an isolated incident based on the information given, but advised the woman to call back if it happens again.
* A resident on Center Rd. reported a lawn contractor working on the lawn next door was mowing over her flowers. The officers talk to both parties and the issue was resolved.
* A burglary attempt was made at a home on Broadway. The resident discovered the side door leading to the basement had been busted. No entry was made and the only thing damaged was the door.
* A computer owner noticed something suspicious on her machine. She called officers to her Burdick home to inform them someone had hacked into her computer. She believed she knew who did it, but did not want to file a report.
Sunday, May 10 – A visitor on Manitou Lane reported receiving harassing text messages. The Lake Orion resident was instructed to call the Lake Orion Police Department.
* A silver Vibe was left in the road at Burdick St. and Pontiac Rd. A caller reported it to the police because it could have been blocking traffic.
Monday, May 11 – after seeing smoke from their Hilberg St. home, a resident called police in case a home may be on fire.
Officers check and a house on Sanders Rd. had a burn permit. They called the fire department to check on it.
* A child riding a lawn mower down Aspen Lane at 7:41 p.m. made a resident react by calling police. More kids in the area were riding golf carts around the area.
The resident requested for officers to check the area and to patrol the area throughout the night.
* Two suspicious people were reported on the beach off of Glaspie Rd.
Officers checked on the situation and found they were taking advantage of the fair night by fishing.
They were told to leave the park by dark.
