A winged angel in white, serenely playing a violin with her eyes closed ? local artist and church member Jan Mayer hopes Christmas cards adorned with her painting bring peace and joy, and helps provide for those in need.
‘If we can help people in need, that would be a good thing,? Mayer said. ‘This is my mission in life ? when people look at it, I want to bring them peace and joy, spiritual comfort.?
Clarkston United Methodist Church offers the cards in the church office, 6600 Waldon Road, $15 for a set of 10 cards. Proceeds from the sales will provide food, utilities, housing and other assistance to people in the community.
