Food, fun and spirits will be the rule at the Brandon Township Public Library fund-raiser.
The public is welcome to this “dressy” but not formal event, hosted by the Library Art Committee and the Friends of the Library. The event will feature a selection of wines to taste and cheese and desserts provided by The French Laundry of Fenton.
“We are really encouraging people to come share this evening with us,” said Zoe Pearson, library public relations director.
All proceeds from the event will help the library to buy a statue for its future children’s garden. “We are hoping to buy a life-sized bronze sculpture,” Pearson said.
The event will also feature a silent auction with pieces donated by Michigan artists. Pieces include jewelry, ceramics, wooden turned bowls, paintings and photography. “We have a fabulous selection of things in the auction,” Pearson said. “People can come in to the library and bid on the items.”
Bidding began on March 19, but patrons will be able to place bids until 8:55 p.m. the night of the event.
Also making the gala memorable will be a raffle every 15 minutes, featuring items such as books and gift baskets donated by local businesses.
“We really would like to encourage the public to attend,” Pearson said. “All the proceeds are going to a really great cause.”
The public is welcome and tickets can be purchased at the library or by calling Zoe Pearson at (248) 627-1471. They are $25 per person or $45 per couple. Deadline for tickets is March 24.
