More than 200 Girl Scouts and counselors filled Independence Oaks Count Park for day camp fun.
With an Under the Sea theme, the scouts enjoyed archery, boating, swimming, and crafts at the Pleasant Ridge Day Camp, June 14-17.
‘This has been a great year, lots of fun,? said Michelle Bennett, camp director with Mary Schleusener. ‘The girls cooked in their units using stoves and fire pits, making mac and cheese, walking crab tacos, and pizza.?
The 142 Clarkston and Holly scouts, along with 39 camp counselors and staff, and 35 adult volunteers, also had a food drive to benefit Lighthouse Emergency Services.
“School’s out, but kids still need food,” Bennett said.
