Oxford Area Community Schools received some good news from county and state officials this week – the district will not have to add any days or hours to the school calendar. School closings due to the repeated ice storms did put the district under hours for the academic year, despite built in extra days and the two excused days allowed by the state. However, after speaking with government officials, Oxford Schools will be able to count professional development days, allowing the calendar to remain the same as long as there are no more closings.
