On Thursday, Sept. 1, a single-car accident occurred at the intersection of M-24 and Stanton in downtown Oxford.
A 45-year-old male Metamora resident driving a 2002 Buick Century was traveling north along M-24 when he swerved to avoid a vehicle which was pulling out of Stanton, but had stopped.
The driver thought the vehicle was going to continue through the intersection and swerved to avoid it.
When he did, he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed into Oxford 7 Theater The driver was sited by police for driving too fast.
