Clarkston High School Japanese Club is holding a benefit concert, featuring the group Raion Taiko to raise relief money for Japan.
“I am really excited,” said Amber Gustafson, a International Baccalaureate student at CHS. “It sounds really fun and it is for a great cause. It also hits the global issues for IB.”
Faye Valtadoros, Japanese teacher, said help will continue to be needed in the wake of the March 11 tsunami and earthquake for years to come.
“The concert keeps the community aware of the fact help is still needed,” she said, adding the performance is fun to watch.
The concert is from 7-9 p.m. at Clarkston High School Performing Arts Center at 6093 Flemmings Lake Road. Doors open at 6:30. The club is asking for $5 donations.
