After 31 years, Linda Sickles, director of the Orion Township Public Library, is retiring. Sickles joined the Lapeer Road library in 1980 and spearheaded constuction of the new facility on Joslyn Road, which opened in 1986. The public is invited to a special open house at the library to celebrate her milestone, this Friday, Jan. 27, from 4-7 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts and punch will be served.
