Senior Kyle Hartwick won the game for the OHS varsity baseball team April 18 with a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Wildcats over Troy-Athens 8-6.
Coach Jeff Willis told his upper classmen to ‘get loose in case the eight and nine spots came around.? When they did, Willis called Hartwick up to pinch hit. After going 2-2 in the at-bat, Hartwick jumped on a fastball and sent it sailing over the fence to secure the victory for OHS. Pitcher Michael Kitchner was awarded the win.
