CSB receives award for community support

Clarkston State Bank was honored with this year’s Community Enhancement Award on May 17 at the 27th Annual Clarkston Community Awards Breakfast.
The award recognizes year long efforts that have enhanced the quality of the community.
Clarkston State Bank was recognized for the numerous events they support with sponsorship dollars and hands on involvement throughout the community.
The CSB leadership sets the example by being involved in various events such as the 4th of July Parade, Clarkston SCAMP, Clarkson and Waterford Relay for Life, Clarkston Coalition for Youth, Clarkston Lighthouse, Waterford Open Door Out Reach Center, Everest Academy, Clarkston Community Schools Student Awards Breakfast and various Clarkston and Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce Functions to name a few.
Several of the CSB employees participate in the various community committees by being on the boards and taking leadership roles.
Two particular fundraising events the retail team takes charge of are the annual Cystic Fibrosis drive and SCAMP Walk N Roll. Through donations from their staff and their customers, over $10,000 has been donated to Cystic Fibrosis and $5,000 to Clarkston SCAMP. In addition, $500 each quarter is donated to a local charity through the bank’s ‘Casual for a Cause? fund.
‘Clarkston State Bank has always been very committed to the communities we serve,? said J. Grant Smith, President and CEO. ‘We appreciate this award as it demonstrates the hard work and dedication provided by all of our staff. That is what Community Banking is all about!?
