Future Wolves Girls Soccer Camp wrapped last Thursday after four days of fun and learning.
The camp was led by Clarkston High School Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach Sarah Wasilk, her coaching staff and varsity players.
Kickers learned basic technical and tactical skill with training sessions for ball skills, one-on-one defending, passing, shooting and team concepts of the game.
‘I thought it was a really fun and a great learning experience,? said Camryn Dehlerup, about her second summer at the camp. ‘I improved on my kicking on the net.?
‘It was really fun,? Claire Lynch added. ‘It helped me improve by being dominate with both feet. Before, I was stronger with my right foot. Now I can kick with my left really good.?
Both are veterans to soccer as they play all year with their parks and recreation team and an indoor soccer league.
‘Lots of improvement,? Wasilk told the girls before campers received their awards and camp T-shirts. ‘Lots of hard work. You did a great job.?
Kickers received awards for contests played during the week for Knock Out, Lightning and World Cup as well as Sportsmanship, Most Improved Player and Lady Wolf. Coaches also made their own awards they gave out on the last day.
The camp is every summer and is open to students entering grades third through ninth and is offered by the Clarkston High School Soccer program.
