All-State honors

Skiers were named to All-State team by the Michigan High School Ski Coaches Association last week.
Derek VanItallie was name for the All-State first team for the slalom and giant slalom races. He finished his senior season as state championship in both races at the MHSAA Division 1 Ski State Finals. He finished the slalom race at 56.62 and the giant slalom at 56.62.
Jacob McIntosh was named to the second team in the slalom race, as he finished in 11th place, 59.63; and he was named to the third team in the giant slalom where he finished in ninth place, 1:08.90.
Madeleine DeClercq received honorable mention for the girls. She finished in 19th place at the slalom state final race, 1:16.60.
The Lady Wolves team also received Academic All-State honors for a combined grade point average of 3.6055.
The boys ski team finished the state finals in third place with 114 points during the two races.
Other finishers in the slalom race included Reis Weidemann, 22nd place, 1:01.29, and Jimmy Haven, 27th place, 1:02.63 to help the Wolves score 61 points.
For the giant slalom Haven finished in 21st place, 1:16.69; and Bobby Dixon, 22nd place, 1:17.64.
