The Orion Veterans Memorial is becoming more and more of a reality with every passing day as construction continues to move swiftly along at the site on Lapeer and Odanah. Sidewalks and utilities have been completed on the site, and recently work advanced with the start of above ground construction, including the walls and entrance pillars of the memorial. Phase I of the project, including everything but the main monuments, is hoped to be completed by Veterans’ Day on Nov. 11, 2003.
