In January, Michael Clancy opened AC -Tire Service Center-North, 595 Ortonville Road the former Brandon Tire store.

“Just a few months after we opened in Ortonville the coronavirus prompted the shutdown of economy,” said Clancy, who for the past 50 years has operated AC-Tire South, 5440 Dixie Highway, Waterford. “Since we are essential it was vitally important that we remained open. We will strive to keep our store environment clean and safe while providing the services necessary to keep area residents moving.”
Clancy, a Brandon Township resident, emphasized that while customers continue to purchase tires, the new AC- Tire Service Center North also features certified mechanics along with an efficient NAPA parts warehouse.
“We can fix it all right here in Ortonville,” said Clancy. “We are way more than just tires and have the facility to take care of customers.”
In addition to mechanical work AC-Tire also performs repairs on all types of trailers, such as boat trailers, utility trailers, travel trailers, and fifth wheels.
“We inventory parts, accessories and a variety of hitches for any trailer made today,” he said. “It’s often difficult to find trailer service in the area. So, before you get out on the road the summer let us make sure the lights, brakes and suspension are in top working order.”
Clancy said while the goal is to provide top notch service, there’s also a clean environment inside featuring new restrooms, lounge area along with snacks, coffee and tea.
“The new landscaping outside will be my own slice of Ireland with the greenest grass in Ortonville,” he said.
Although the coronavirus has halted youth sports this upcoming summer, AC Tire Service will continued to give back to the community as soon as it’s safe.
“At AC Tire, we were all looking forward to shaking hands and meeting the teams at Frosty Boy after a game,” he said. “We are looking forward to next year when we can be back out sports. But for now, stop by visit with Manager Curtis Mullins, he’s been with Brandon Tire for many years and continues provide outstanding service.”
