An unruly mob of Leonard Elementary students duct-taped a teacher to the outside of their school Thursday afternoon.
Don’t worry the incident wasn’t part of some pint-sized insurrection or a protest against the Mystery Meat lunch special.
Gym teacher Michael Sudrovech voluntarily allowed himself to be attached to a brick wall using two full rolls of duct tape. His public humilation was the student body’s reward for raising $10,109 during the school’s Jump Rope for Heart fund-raiser back in March.
Sudrovech ? or ‘Mr. Suds? as the kids call him ? challenged students to raise $8,000 for the American Heart Association. With 186 of Leonard Elementary’s 320 students turning in donations, the challenge goal was met and surpassed.
As a result, Sudrovech found himself in a pretty sticky situation as he was duct-taped to a wall near the school’s entrance while perched atop a chair for all to see, enjoy and laugh it.
The boisterous crowd of students gathered around him began chanting ‘Tape his mouth!? Once that was done, the mob started chanting ‘Move the chair!? Fortunately for Sudrovech that request wasn’t honored.
Derek Tasker was the school’s top fund-raiser with $380.
He was followed by Amanda Ohler with $366, Ben Wiseman $300, Paul Stephens and Natalie Duholf $285, Dakota Bivens $210, Rachel James $205, Jessica Thompson and Victoria Baker $200, Kelsey Hockenberry $165, and Samantha Pastewski and Adam Womble each with $150.
