Addison receives construction mgr. bids for twp. hall

Addison Township officials took another step towards the constructing a new township hall.
The township board voted unanimously at the Monday’s regular board meeting to authorize Supervisor Bruce Pearson and David Gassen, project manager for Partners in Architect, to select a construction manager.
In a special meeting Nov. 10, the board, along with Gassen, heard from each of the five companies that bid on the project. Bidders included KEO & Associate Inc., The Dailey Company, McCarthy & Smith, Inc, Bernco Inc. and Frank Rewold & Sons.
According to the Request For Proposal (RFP) sent out by the township, each company was asked to provide proposed costs based on the total construction budget of $1.5 million including CMC (Construction Manager Consultant) fees, general conditions to perform the work and based on the preliminary schedule included and or adjusted per your submitted commentary on schedule.
Keo & Associates Inc. had the highest bid of $315,517, while Bernco Inc. came in with the lowest bid of $207,500. In between were McCarthy & Smith, Inc. with $276,000 Frank Rewold and Sons, Inc was $270,600 and The Dailey Company with $222,900.
Following the meeting, Pearson said each company was ‘excellent.?
‘Our architect had worked with each one of them successfully on at least one other building or so,? Pearson explained. ‘So those five are all excellent choices and now, we have to determine which one myself and the architect want to go forward with.?
