Anderson’s trip to junior olympics

Ten-year-old Bo Anderson from Clarkston recently finished his outdoor track season with Waza Track Club.
He finished the season at the AAU Junior Olympics National Championship Track meet where he joined 18 of his teammates at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, July 27- Aug. 8.
Anderson finished in 32nd place in the 1,500-meter run, 5:42.26; and in 54th place in the 800-meter run, 3:04.94.
Athletes representing 49 states from across the U.S. were represented in Ypsilanti. The Junior Olympics is an AAU sanctioned event modeled after the Olympic Games.
Before the championship Anderson was at the AAU State Championship National Qualifier at Ypsilanti High School at the end of June.
He took second place in the 800-meter run, finishing at 2:49.12 and second in the 1,500-meter run at 5:37.91.
These are just a few of many accomplishments for Anderson. Earlier in year he finished as state champion in the 1,600-meter run in the Michigan AAU Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 10 with the Waza Track Club.
He finished the event with a time of 6:04.84 in the bantam boys division.
Anderson also qualified to compete at the national level in the 2011 USATF Outdoor Track and Field Junior Olympics and the 2012 AAU Outdoor Track and Field Junior Olympics.
