St. Mary’s-In-The-Hills is hosting a Vacation Bible School, which will be held August 13-16 from 6-8:30 p.m. The first half hour of each evening includes dinner.
‘This will be the first event in the new building,? said Stacy Tines of the church. St. Mary’s-In-The-Hills is completing construction of the Fellowship Hall.
The theme is ‘Galilee by the Sea,? and the school will be set up to look like’a market place in Galilee, at the time when Jesus would have been in Galilee. Some of the stations will include a seaside playground, a market and a synagogue. Each day will focus on a different gospel story.
Participants will be split into different tribes of Israel. The camp is open to anyone, and is geared for families. Anyone from preschool age and up can take part in the crafts and enjoy the music, dramas and story-telling.
Those interested in participating do not need to preregister, ‘just show up on the day of the event,? Tines said.
There is no charge for anyone who wants to participate. For more information, call the church at (248)391-0663. St. Mary’s-In-The-Hills is located at 2512 Joslyn Court.
