Armed robbery reported at gasoline station

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an armed robbery at the Shell gasoline station on Sashabaw Road near I-75 shortly after 1 a.m. on April 9.
According to deputy reports, a man came into the station, waited for other customers to leave, then implied that he had a gun in his pocket.
‘Are you going to give it to me?? the suspect allegedly asked the clerk. When the clerk asked what he was talking about, the suspect allegedly said, ‘Do you want me to kill you?? while pointing at his pocket.
The clerk left the cash drawer on the top of the counter, allowing the suspect to take about $75 cash before leaving the store.
The clerk called 9-1-1, and sheriff units converged on the scene. A K-9 unit was able to track the suspect’s path to the nearby Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant, but lost the scent there, reports said.
The suspect was described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a red bandana covering his face. He wore a University of North Carolina hooded pullover sweatshirt, blue jeans and brown leather gloves. He reportedly used a ‘squeaky? voice.
The clerk told deputies that a friend who works for a gasoline station in Orion Township said he was robbed twice by a similar suspect. Independence Township investigators plan to cooperate with the Orion substation in the investigation, reports said.
The gasoline station had a surveillance camera in operation, but not in a compatible format for sheriff investigators, who on Monday said they were still waiting for the business to provide a copy of the video.
