Kindness for Darci’s kidneys
The Darci Seipke Benefit Foundation announces its annual Thunder Road Classic Car Show at Canterbury Village, July 25. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the show runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s event will be part of Canterbury’s Planes Trains and Automobiles weekend.
Classic car entries are $15 per entry.

Michigan Flag Football HOF will host a four-man golf outing August 8 at Bald Mountain Golf Course. Cost is $75 per player and includes 18 holes, cart, skins and lunch.

Cruise through history on Lake Orion
The Orion Historical Society announces its annual historical boat tour on the waters of Lake Orion for members, July 11. The cruise will depart from Green’s Park.
The tour will include identification of homes and sites with unique stories from a bygone era and will last two to three hours. Guests will be provided with water, soda, and snacks.

‘Get Creative? with paper and ink at the library
The Orion Township Public Library will present a six week poetry and creative writing workshop for adults hosted by local, award-winning poet, writer, essayist and teacher Margo Lagattuta, MFA.
The workshop will support the library’s Get Creative summer reading theme and will be held at the library every Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from June 25 through August 6.
During the workshop, Lagattuta will help writers of all skill levels find their creativity and develop their writing skills.

Lake Orion Village Farmers Market will open on Wednesday, July 8, at 3:00 p.m. by Children’s Park in beautiful downtown Lake Orion. Fighting cancer by celebrating life
Join the Twilight Benefit Foundation Tuesday, July 7 for their golf outing at Indianwood golf course to benefit Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Registration is at 10 a.m. Cost is $300 per golfer, $1,160 per foursome and $1,800 per corporate hole sponsorship.
Continental breakfast, BBQ lunch on the course and a prime rib dinner will be provided as well as contest and prizes.

Lake Orion has a very interesting history, which the tour will highlight. It includes identification of homes and sites with unique stories from a bygone era. Stories of industry will be included, such as harvesting ice and the operation of an amusement park. The lake was the place where many of Detroit’s elite had summer cottages, which the tour will include history on, as well.
The tour takes two to three hours, and guests will be provided with water, soda, and snacks.
