Paintings, photography, jewelry, fabric and wood works and other pieces of art fill Depot Park at Clarkston’s 37th annual Art in the Village, Sept. 17-18.
The juried show is hosted by the Clarkston Community Historical Society, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
Proceeds fund exhibits at the Clarkston Heritage Museum, purchase and restoration of Clarkston artifacts, and educational activities throughout the year.
The event also features live music, children’s activities, and fresh cider, doughnuts, and other food, sold by local nonprofit organizations.
‘Art in the Village is a Clarkston tradition and our single largest fund-raiser,? said society President Jennifer Arkwright. ‘Our artists and vendors love coming to the show year after year.?
Silent Auction Tent features items donated to the Historical Society by artists participating in the show.
The Antique Tent will be filled with antiques and collectibles for sale, donated by local residents. The society also will sell shirts, bags, hats, afghans, note cards and other Clarkston merchandise.
The Clarkston Farm and Garden Club will return with fresh-cut flower arrangements and mums.
The society is still accepting donations of antiques and collectibles for the Antique Tent. Donors will receive a tax receipt listing the fair market value of donated items. To donate, bring items to the Clarkston DPW garage on Depot Road from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16.
