Athletes of the Week ? Notre Dame Prep state champs

Four Clarkston residents played an integral role in Notre Dame Prep’s state skiing championship in the girls B-C-D race on Feb. 27 at Harbor Springs.
Senior captain Caitlyn Wylie, sophomore Alexandra Kosik, sophomore Emalilly Hoxie and freshman Natasha Kosik all hail from Clarkston and each contributed to Notre Dame Prep’s victory. Their finish is historic as Notre Dame is the first team from Southeast Michigan to win a state skiing championship.
In the final standings Notre Dame tied with Iron Mountain with 119 points. The tie was broken by the totals of the team’s fifth racers who in both the giant slalom and slalom for Notre Dame was Alexandra Kosik at 29th place.
Also standing out among the Clarkston residents on the Notre Dame team, Natasha Kosik finished 18th overall in the slalom and 24th in the giant slalom.
