Travelers on Atwater will be happy to know the paving project should be completed next week — at least that’s what Lake Orion’s DPW Superintendent Scott Baker says.
The paving of Atwater was supposed to be done before school started.
According to Baker, the project expanded when it was discovered the water line in that area was undersized.
‘Things weren’t written down as far as water (mains) was concerned. We didn’t want to build a road over an old water main,? he said.
The village decided to upgrade the water line and that meant getting permits from both the county and state.
The upgrading doubled the size of the project because a lot of field work needed to be done.
