The Clarkston Riverdawgs 8U are on a roll in their first season.
One of their highlights was taking first place in their first baseball tournament – Capital Kickoff Classic, May 13.
They defeated Lansing Downtown Optimist 8U to win, 6-2. They tied the game in the top of the sixth inning and went on to score for runs in the seventh inning.
They beat L.A. Express, 15-2, in a qualifying game to reach the championship.
The team heads to the AA 8U State Tournament this weekend and the Firecracker Classic next week.
The team is Ashton Anderson, Bo Anderson, Ben Bacon, Kyle Crockett, Tyler Crockett, Jacob Konieczka, Ryan McKay, Adam Phillips, Mason Schlachter, Luke Spicer, Ryan Stimac, Brady Wiley; assistant coaches Gordon Schlachter, Tony Spicer; and head coach Brad Bacon.
