John Woolley of Clarkston hopes friends and neighbors can help his grandson Pryce Neuwirth achieve his goal of becoming a student ambassador.
‘It’s something that will have a big impact on him, and stick with him for the rest of his life,? said Woolley.
He and Neuwirth’s parents Mark and Stephine host the Dinner and Auction for a Future, 6-9 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at Clarkston Eagles, 5640 Maybee Road.
‘I’m an Eagle of 25 years, and his mother’s an Eagle,? Woolley said. ‘The Eagles donated use of the hall.?
Pryce, fifth grader at Holly Academy, interviewed and was selected for People to People Student Ambassador Program to Western Canada this summer.
The 12-day trip includes meetings with government officials, working on wolf conservation, restore a beach on the Pacific Ocean, whale watching, build a Tepee and spend the night with a Canadian Indian tribe, and other educational activities.
‘I am looking forward to broadening my perspectives of the world and gaining a better understanding of international culture and history,? Pryce said.
The fund raiser includes spaghetti dinner, 50/50 raffle, Mystery Bag Auction, cash bar, and Chinese Auction. Admission is $8.
