After an opening-game setback, the Brandon girls soccer team bounced back in style against Goodrich April 5.
The host Blackhawks shut down the Martians to earn a 3-1 win, improving to 1-1 on the season.
Meg Donnay scored a goal and assisted on another for the Blackhawks, while Jackie Back and Cassie Shepherd notched Brandon’s other goals. Amber Beard scored the lone Goodrich goal.
Elizabeth Kennedy made 11 saves to earn the win in net for the Blackhawks.
In their season opener March 31, the Blackhawks were beat on three long balls and dropped a 3-0 contest against visiting Davison.
The Blackhawks return to action April 20 at Hartland, while Goodrich competes that same day against Frankenmuth.
